Captain's Cottage
Captain's Cottage is in Shanklin, right in the middle of things. The shops and pubs are on your doorstep. It's about a ten minute walk down to the sandy beach.
The house sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's a big place. There's a conservatory, a dining room, and a separate games room. The garden is mature, enclosed, and private. There's a barbecue and a chiminea out there. You can park on site.
It's good for families. We include a cot and a highchair. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi.
You can bring dogs. Four is the maximum.
You're very close to the bus station, which gets you anywhere on the island. The train station is at the end of the road. It stops at a few coastal towns. In summer, there's an open-top bus for sightseeing.
Shanklin itself has the beach, the Old Village, and Shanklin Chine. The seafront has amusements and crazy golf.
If you want to explore, a lot is within half an hour's drive. Osborne House is near East Cowes. Carisbrooke Castle is just outside Newport. The model village at Godshill is popular. The Needles are at the far west of the island. Ventnor has its Botanical Gardens. For a big day out, there's Robin Hill park.
