Holly Cottage
Holly Cottage is in Roud, which is a quiet hamlet outside Godshill. It's a detached single-storey place, next to our house. The lane is very quiet. You get your own bit of garden.
It sleeps three. One bedroom with a kingsize bed, and a small sofa bed in the living area. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's on one level, so it's straightforward to get around. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing a dog.
The local shop and pubs are in Godshill, about a mile and a half away. They're nice. Godshill itself is one of the prettier villages on the island, with thatched cottages and a church on the hill. You can walk there from the cottage via the footpaths if you like.
The coast is about a fifteen minute drive. Ventnor and Shanklin are that way. Newport is also fifteen minutes for bigger shops or the cinema.
If you want to see the sights, The Needles and Alum Bay are about half an hour's drive. Osborne House is similar. Carisbrooke Castle is closer, maybe twenty minutes. Useful links for planning: National Trust Isle of Wight and English Heritage.
It's got a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. Pets are welcome.
