The Hollies
The Hollies is our place in Ventnor. It's a mid-terrace house on a quiet road between Ventnor and Bonchurch. Been in the family a while.
It sleeps seven. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. We've updated it, so it's comfortable.
The kitchen and dining area is open plan. Big patio doors open straight out to the garden. Good for getting everyone together.
The garden is enclosed. It's lawn with a patio bit that has a table and chairs.
You can walk into Ventnor centre in a few minutes. That's where the seafront and the main beach are. The town's got cafes and some independent shops. It's sheltered, so it's often a bit warmer there.
One of the best spots is Steephill Cove, just down the coast from Ventnor. It's a proper little cove, not much there, just some beach huts and a couple of places for food. You have to walk down to it. It's about a ten minute drive from the house.
Shanklin is along the coast, maybe fifteen minutes by car. The seafront is busy. The Old Village bit is worth a look if you like tea rooms and thatched roofs.
The facilities are what you'd expect. Dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Parking for one car on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.
