Steephill Lodge is on the Isle of Wight, up behind Ventnor. It's a detached place, set in the grounds of the cricket club. You get private parking for one car.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star property, so it's comfortable and clean. There's a safe storage room inside for bikes if you've brought them.
You can use the lawned grounds. If there's a cricket match on, you're welcome to watch for free and use the clubhouse bar. It's a nice spot on a summer afternoon.
You're very close to Ventnor Botanic Garden. It's a short walk down to Steephill Cove. There's no road to it, you have to go on foot. It's a proper old-fashioned fishing cove with a few beach huts and a café that does fresh crab. It's a lovely little spot.
Ventnor town is just over a mile away down the hill. It's a classic Victorian seaside place built on a steep slope. There's a decent pub on the front called the Spyglass, and some tea rooms and shops.
For days out, the coast path is right there. Osborne House is about half an hour's drive. Carisbrooke Castle is similar. The Needles and Alum Bay are about 40 minutes away.
Facilities are what you'd expect: TV, WiFi, bedding and towels are included. There's a shower. No pets.
