Hill House Bakery is an apartment on the ground floor of the main house. It's in Ventnor town, about a hundred yards from the shops and the seafront. You get your own parking space.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It was done up a few years ago so it’s in good order. The rating is 4 Star, which means it’s comfortable and well-equipped. You have a private decked courtyard at the back.
The place is all on one level, which is handy. The kitchen is open plan. The shower is a walk-in one.
Ventnor is built on a steep hill. That's the thing with it. The beach is about half a mile down the hill from the apartment.
There's a local pub close by. The town has the usual seaside things: fish and chip shops, a few pubs doing food, some independent shops. It’s a Victorian town, so it’s got that character.
Because of the Undercliff, Ventnor has its own microclimate. It's often a bit warmer and sunnier here than elsewhere on the island. The National Trust owns the downs behind the town.
If you're driving, you can get to a lot of the island's attractions within half an hour. Carisbrooke Castle is about twenty minutes. The Ventnor Botanic Garden is just on the edge of town. Osborne House is around twenty-five minutes drive. The Needles and Blackgang Chine are also within that range.
Facilities: There's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. I can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. There's bike storage. Sorry, no pets.
If you're coming over on the ferry, I can sort out a discount for you. I'll send you the details if you book.
