Clarendon House
Clarendon House is in Shanklin. It's a Victorian terraced house, quite big and bright. The back garden gets the sun.
It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and solid but not a show home. The carpets are a bit worn in places. That's about it. The stairs are normal.
The main living room is long, with a sofa and chairs at one end and the dining table at the other. The kitchen is a proper kitchen, not a little galley. You can get a few people in there. The garden has a patio with a table and a bit of lawn.
It's about a five minute walk to Shanklin Old Village with the thatched cottages. The seafront and the beach are about a fifteen minute walk. The beach is sandy. There's a chine there, which is a wooded ravine, if you like walking.
From Shanklin you can get the train to Ryde or Ventnor. The Needles are about a forty minute drive. Godshill, with the model village, is twenty minutes. Osborne House is about half an hour. You can get the hovercraft from Ryde to Portsmouth if you want to pop over to the mainland.
For facilities: there's parking for one car on the drive, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and we can put out a highchair. You can bring up to three dogs.
