So, Bungalow 6. It’s part of Fort Spinney holiday bungalows in Yaverland on the Isle of Wight. It’s basically right by the sea, maybe a minute's walk to the edge of the beach.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. No pets, sorry. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable. You’re on the ground floor. There's a step up into each bedroom, but the main living space is level. The garden out the back is enclosed, with a table and chairs.
The bungalow itself is straightforward. Open plan kitchen and living room. Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine. Bedding and towels come with it. There's parking right outside.
The main thing is the location. It's quiet here at Yaverland, but you can see Sandown Bay lifeboat station. The beach is a long sandy one, good for families. You can fossick around the cliffs, but for a proper look you should book a fossil walk at Dinosaur Isle. It’s just up the road.
A five or ten minute walk down the path gets you into Sandown town centre, past the zoo. Sandown has the pier, amusements, all that seaside stuff. You can walk along the sea wall all the way to Shanklin if you fancy it. There's a shop about a mile away, a pub and a restaurant within about half a mile.
If you want a day out, Osborne House is about 25 minutes by car. The Needles and Alum Bay are just over half an hour's drive. Most of the island's main things are within about 30 minutes.
That’s about it. It’s a good base, right by the sand. Useful link for the area: Visit Isle of Wight.
