Cockerwell
Cockerwell is a bungalow near Newchurch on the Isle of Wight. It's detached, so you've got your own space. The big thing is the view. It looks out over fields and the downs. Because it's all on one level, it's straightforward to get around inside.
It sleeps up to eight people in five bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and well-equipped, not luxurious. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got kids or a dog. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
It's on a quiet caravan site, but the bungalow itself is private. You get the feeling of being in the countryside straight away. There's a games room with a pool table, which is handy if the weather turns.
There's a pub in the village, about half a mile away. It's a proper local. The famous Garlic Farm is a little further on. For a bigger shop, you'd need to drive a couple of miles.
Sandown beach is about five minutes in the car. It's a classic seaside place with sand, a pier, and all the usual things like crazy golf. Shanklin is a similar distance the other way.
If you want to explore, a lot of the island is within 30 minutes. You've got Osborne House in East Cowes, which is English Heritage. The Needles are out towards the west. For walking, the coastal path is excellent. National Trust Isle of Wight has good information on their properties and trails.
Facilities: there's parking right outside. It has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and a highchair.
