Old School Mews is in Shanklin. It's a conversion of part of an old primary school. It's terraced, so attached on one side. You've got your own garden at the back, which is enclosed.
It sleeps six, across three bedrooms. Two bathrooms, which is handy. One's an ensuite off the main bedroom. The third bedroom is right at the top of the house. It's a big room with two four-foot beds. Good for kids. The stairs are normal, no real issue there.
It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-finished. The main living space is open-plan. French doors go out to the garden. Kitchen has a breakfast bar and a dishwasher. There's a washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is on site.
The location is good. You're about a ten minute walk from the cliff path down to the beach. The beach is sandy. The Shanklin Esplanade has the usual seafront things: amusements, crazy golf, places to eat. There's a pub and a restaurant about the same distance away. A shop is half a mile.
Shanklin itself has a few parts. The old village has thatched cottages and tea rooms. The main town has more shops and restaurants. The railway, the Island Line, goes from Shanklin to Sandown and Ryde. It's useful.
For things to do, you're on the Isle of Wight so there's plenty. Within about half an hour you can get to places like Ventnor Botanical Gardens, the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, or Dinosaur Isle in Sandown. Carisbrooke Castle is about twenty minutes by car. Osborne House, Queen Victoria's place, is about forty minutes. The sailing towns like Cowes and Yarmouth are a bit further but make for a good day out.
No pets, I'm afraid. The place is next to another cottage called Old School Mews Too. You can book them together if you've got a bigger group.
