Elm Cottage

Elm Cottage is in Ventnor, on the south coast of the Isle of Wight. It's semi-detached, part of a pair. If it's available, you can also book the cottage next door, Beech Cottage, for a bigger group.

It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. You can bring two dogs.

The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got pets or children. There's parking right there. Inside, there's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings, plus the usual things like a washing machine, dishwasher, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included.

The location is the main thing. It's in an area called the Undercliff. It's sheltered, so it's often a bit warmer than everywhere else. The beach is about a five minute walk down the path. The coastal path goes both ways from the cottage, so you can just step out the door for a walk.

Ventnor itself is about two miles away. It's a proper old-fashioned seaside town. There's a decent pub on the seafront called the Spyglass Inn. Shops, a few cafes, that sort of thing.

If you want to explore, the whole island is within easy reach. The famous Needles are at the western tip. Osborne House, where Queen Victoria lived, is a big draw. For a day out, you've got places like Carisbrooke Castle, the Ventnor Botanical Gardens, or the sailing towns like Cowes. All of it is within a half hour drive.
