Flat 1 Portman House is a first-floor apartment on the east side of Shanklin. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's tidy and in good order. It was done up in 2018.
It sleeps up to six people. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. You're welcome to bring up to two dogs. The back garden is enclosed, which is handy for that.
The location is the main thing. You're about a one-minute walk from the cliff top. From there, a set of steps goes down to the beach. It's a sandy, bucket-and-spade sort of beach. Because you have to go down the steps, it tends to be a bit quieter than Shanklin or Sandown beaches. There's a water sports school there if you fancy hiring a kayak or paddleboard.
A shop is a couple of minutes' walk away. The nearest pub and restaurant are even closer, about 70 yards. Shanklin old village, with its thatched pubs and tea rooms, is about a ten-minute walk. The seafront amusements and crazy golf are down on the esplanade.
If you want to explore, Sandown is the next resort along. It has a pier, amusements, and Dinosaur Isle. You can walk there along the coastal path. Further afield, places like The Needles, Osborne House, and Blackgang Chine are all within a 30-minute drive.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a travel cot and a highchair if you need them. There's parking for one car on site.
