Shoreside, Royal Cliff

Shoreside is a first floor apartment in a modern building on Royal Cliff in Sandown. It’s named after the building. There are a few apartments in the block, but Shoreside is on the front facing the sea.

It’s officially a 5 Star property, which means it’s been kitted out to a high standard with modern fittings and appliances.

The main living area is open plan. The main thing is the view. You can see Culver Down to the left and the bay to the right. Large balcony doors lead out to a proper balcony, big enough for chairs. It’s east-facing, so you get the morning sun.

Sleeps four, though there’s only one bedroom, which has a king size bed. The sofa in the living area converts to a double bed for the other two guests. It’s one bathroom, but it’s modern and decently sized.

To get there, you drive into an underground car park. There’s a lift up to the apartment floor, which makes unloading easy. There’s private parking included.

The facilities are good. It has a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and a smart TV. Everything is included: bedding, towels, electricity. A travel cot and highchair are there if you need them.

As for location, the beach is about a five minute walk down the cliff path. There’s also private gated access from the building straight onto the coastal path for walks. There’s a pub nearby.

In Sandown itself, there’s the usual seafront attractions, cafes, and shops. The Isle of Wight is good for getting out. The National Trust and English Heritage have several sites on the island within easy reach. Osborne House is about a 25 minute drive. The Needles are further, about 45 minutes from here.

No pets allowed.
