Woodpecker
Woodpecker is a yurt on a farm just outside Newport. It sleeps five, all in one open-plan space inside the yurt. I've just had it refurbished.
It's got a proper kitchenette so you can cook, and a wood-burning stove. The bathroom is inside the yurt, which is handy. It stays warm, but it’s still a yurt, so bring some warm things just in case.
It's on a quiet farm. You'll hear birds and owls. We sometimes see bats and red squirrels. The yurt looks out towards an area of outstanding natural beauty.
There's a decent enclosed garden area with your own barbecue. There's parking right there.
You're five minutes by car from Newport for shops. The coast is about fifteen minutes away. If you want to explore, the National Trust on the Isle of Wight has good spots like The Needles or Bembridge Windmill.
It's a quiet spot. You'll hear families, but we don't take loud adult groups.
Facilities: everything's included, bedding, electricity. There's a highchair. There's a shared kids' play area on the farm. No pets, sorry.
You can book Woodpecker along with the Robin and Kingfisher yurts if you've got a bigger group.
