The Coach House is where we go. It's in Wootton, on the Isle of Wight, about a ten minute drive from Ryde. It's semi-detached, part of a larger estate. The biggest thing is having your own private path down to the beach. It's a proper shingle beach. You can fish off it, and watch the ships go by in the Solent. You can see Portsmouth from there.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One is a ground floor bedroom with a super king bed and its own shower room. That's useful. The place has a five star rating. It's comfortable. There's underfloor heating. The stairs are normal.
They've put a big covered hot tub out on the deck. It's under a roof, so you can use it in any weather. The views from there are good.
Inside, there are Smart TVs in all the bedrooms, with Netflix logged in. There's a PlayStation 4 in the living room with some games. There's WiFi. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's a washing machine too. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's parking.
The estate is wooded. You see red squirrels quite often, and other wildlife. It's quiet.
The local pub is about a mile and a quarter away. The nearest shop is a bit further. Ryde is your nearest proper town. It's got shops, places to eat, and a big sandy beach. There's quite a lot there: bowling, a swimming pool, that sort of thing.
Places you can get to within half an hour's drive: Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle, Quarr Abbey. Cowes is about twenty minutes for the sailing. The Garlic Farm is near Newchurch, if you like that sort of thing. The whole island is easy to get around from here.
