High Tide
High Tide is at Island Harbour Marina, near Whippingham. It's one of a row of terraced cottages right on the water. You're looking out over the River Medina and the boats.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. Everything's on one floor which is handy.
There's a restaurant at the marina about 500 yards away. They do good food. The local pub is about the same distance. For a proper shop, you'd drive into Newport. That's only a couple of miles.
The cottage is right on the edge of the marina nature area. It's quiet. You see a lot of birds. You can walk along the river path all the way into Newport if you want.
Cowes is about three miles away. That's for sailing and the high street. Osborne House is very close, maybe a five minute drive. It's worth a visit. English Heritage: Osborne.
For the beach, you'd drive to Ryde or further west. That takes about 20 minutes. The rest of the island is easy from here. The Needles, Ventnor, all of it is within half an hour.
What's here: parking right outside, wifi, a TV, a washing machine. All bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
