Green Poplars
Green Poplars is a holiday lodge near Cowes. It's on a quiet park with other lodges around. You get the decking area and the bit of garden to yourselves. It looks out onto trees.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. Everything's on one level, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's clean and things work.
The living area is open plan. The kitchen has what you need: dishwasher, washing machine. There's a TV and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside.
You can get a short-term membership for the on-site health club and gym. There are also tennis courts, and we leave a couple of rackets in the lodge for guests to use.
For the beach, Gurnard is about a mile down the road. It's shingle with some sand when the tide's out. Cowes town centre is a short drive or a decent walk away. It's got the usual shops, places to eat, and the seafront. The chain ferry over to East Cowes runs regularly.
The island is good for getting about. Osborne House is in East Cowes, a few minutes drive once you're over on the ferry. The Needles are about a 40 minute drive west. Carisbrooke Castle is roughly 20 minutes inland.
