Green Poplars
Green Poplars is a lodge near Cowes on the Isle of Wight. It's in a quiet spot, part of a small development.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well kept. It's all on one level, so no stairs to worry about.
The main room is open plan. Kitchen, dining, living area all together. Doors open out onto a deck with a table and chairs. You get a glimpse of the water through the trees.
Facilities are straightforward. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are provided. There's parking right outside. Sorry, no pets.
Cowes is about a ten minute drive. It's a proper sailing town. The high street has shops, pubs, and places to eat. The chain ferry over to East Cowes is an experience, and it gets you to Osborne quite easily.
If you want to use it, there's a health club on site you can get a pass for. There are also tennis courts. We leave a couple of rackets in the lodge.
For days out, Carisbrooke Castle is about twenty minutes inland. The Needles are forty minutes to the west. Blackgang Chine and Ventnor are on the south coast, maybe half an hour's drive.
