Hill Top Barn is one of ours at Fair Isle House, just outside Newport. It's a converted barn, so it's quite square inside. The main thing is the view from the living room window. You look out over fields towards Newport, and you can see the downs. It's a good spot for watching the weather come in.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, a double and a twin. One bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The stairs are wooden and a bit steeper than in a normal house, just something to be aware of.
You're a five minute drive from the centre of Newport. There's a shop and a pub about a mile away in Shide. The pub does food. For a beach, you're looking at a drive. Seaview or Ryde are probably closest, about seven miles.
Being in the middle of the island makes getting around easy. Arreton Barns is two miles down the road. The National Trust places like Carisbrooke Castle and Osborne House are within twenty minutes by car. The Needles and Alum Bay are about half an hour's drive. Robin Hill is just up the road.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. The garden is enclosed, with a patio and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
We can sometimes help arrange discounted ferry travel if you ask when you book. If you've got a bigger group, there are other cottages here on the same site.
