Number 1 is on the end of a row of old coastguard cottages. We live next door at Number 2. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms, with one bathroom.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been modernised, so it's warm and everything works, but the walls are thick and the rooms feel solid because it's an old building. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, which is normal for these cottages.
You've got a small enclosed garden at the back, which gets the sun in the afternoon. There's parking right outside.
The location is the main thing. You're right on Stokes Bay. The pebble beach is a two minute walk. You can see the whole Solent from there. It's busy with boats: yachts, container ships, sometimes even navy carriers. The local pub is about five minutes walk away.
Stokes Bay Golf Club is just there, a links course right on the coast.
Gosport town is a short drive for shops. The foot ferry to Portsmouth Harbour takes about seven or eight minutes from the pontoon. From there you can get to Gunwharf Quays, the Historic Dockyard for the Victory and the Mary Rose, or up the Spinnaker Tower. The train from Portsmouth Harbour goes direct to London in about an hour and a half.
If you want to explore, the New Forest is about a half hour drive. The Isle of Wight is easy for a day trip, you can get the ferry from Portsmouth or the hovercraft from Southsea.
Inside, it's got what you'd need: a washer, a dishwasher, wifi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
