The One Bedroom
The One Bedroom is a flat in the Lipstick building at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth. It's on one of the upper floors. The view from the windows is quite something. You can see right across the harbour and the Solent.
It's a one-bedroom place, so it sleeps two. One bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well put together and modern. Everything is on one level, open plan. The underfloor heating is good, makes it feel cosy quickly.
You're right in the middle of everything down there. The front door of the building is about a three-minute walk from shops, restaurants, and a cinema. There's a pub just round the corner. It's busy, but convenient. For a proper beach, you'd need to go to Southsea, which is a couple of miles away.
Things to do locally: the Historic Dockyard is a fifteen-minute walk along the harbour. That's where the Victory and the Mary Rose are. The Spinnaker Tower is basically next door if you want the view from the top. You can get train to London from Portsmouth Harbour station, it takes about an hour and a half.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a bike store if you bring cycles. Parking is on site, which is useful down there. No pets allowed, sorry.
