The Lodge Portsmouth

The Lodge is in Portsmouth, down in Hilsea really. It's a detached house, so no one attached to the sides. You've got your own garden that goes round the back and side. It's enclosed.

It says it sleeps six, but that's with the pull-out day bed in the main bedroom. Honestly, I'd say it's best for four adults, maybe four adults and two kids. There are two bedrooms. One is upstairs with a king size bed and that day bed. It has its own bathroom with a bath. The other bedroom is on the ground floor with a king size bed. There's a second bathroom down there with a shower. Two toilets, which helps.

The main room is all open plan. Kitchen, dining table, and living area all together. Leads right out to the patio. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's parking on the drive.

It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern and clean. The Wi-Fi is decent.

Location wise, you're about ten minutes in a car from the seafront at Southsea. The hovercraft to the Isle of Wight goes from there. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is there too, with HMS Victory and the Mary Rose. It's a proper day out. National Trust Portsmouth has information on some of the forts and things around here.

Gunwharf Quays is about fifteen minutes away. That's the big shopping and eating outlet by the water. The Spinnaker Tower is there if you want the view.

If you head the other way, you can get out to the South Downs National Park in under half an hour for walks. South Downs National Park has walking routes and maps.

No pets, sorry. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one.
