The Granary

The Granary is one of four cottages on our farm here in Hallspill, right next to the River Torridge. It looks out over the river, the old iron bridge and down towards Bideford. You get your own courtyard with a table and a barbecue.

It sleeps six, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well finished. It's not a palace, but it's a good solid place. The farm is at the end of a long drive, so it's quiet. There are 200 acres here. Guests share a big green area where dogs can run and kids can play. You can walk in the farm woods.

The Tarka Trail is close by. It's a disused railway line you can walk or cycle on. Really flat, good for everyone. It goes along the river through Instow and on to Barnstaple. Bideford town is two miles away. It's got shops, a pannier market, and a quay. You can get the ferry to Lundy Island from there.

The coast is about four miles. Instow has a sandy beach on the estuary, good for families. Westward Ho! is the other way, a proper surf beach with a big pebble ridge. For bigger surf beaches, Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe are about half an hour's drive. Exmoor National Park is also within easy reach for a day out.

Inside, it's open plan. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair and stairgate. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
