The Threshing Barn is one of four cottages on our working farm. It sits right at the end of a private drive, so it's very quiet. You look out over the River Torridge and the old Iron Bridge.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which helps. It's got a 4 Star rating, so things are in good order. You have your own courtyard with a barbecue and garden furniture.
The stairs inside are typical for a barn conversion, so they're a bit steep. Something to be aware of if you have unsteady guests.
There are 200 acres of farmland here. You're welcome to walk around the woods and fields. We also have a shared green area where dogs can run and kids can play. The Tarka Trail is very close by if you want a longer, flat walk or cycle ride. It follows the old railway line.
Bideford is about two miles away. It's a proper market town with shops and a big pannier market. From there you can get the boat over to Lundy Island if you fancy a day trip.
The coast is close. Westward Ho! beach is under four miles. It's good for surfing and has all the usual seaside things. Instow is about the same distance, more of an estuary village with a sandy beach.
If you want to explore further, Exmoor National Park is within an hour's drive. The bigger surf beaches like Saunton, Woolacombe and Croyde are about 30 to 40 minutes away in the other direction.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
