Swallows Cottage is in Alwington, which is a quiet village about three miles from Bideford. It's a converted stone barn. The main living room is upstairs, which gives you a good view over the fields. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's finished to a high standard and everything is new.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. All three bedrooms have their own bathrooms, which is useful. You can bring two dogs.
Downstairs has the kitchen and dining area with an Aga. Upstairs, the living room has a woodburning stove and high beamed ceilings. The stairs are normal, not a spiral or anything. There's an enclosed garden with a patio and a barbecue.
For facilities, it has the usual: wifi, washing machine, dishwasher. There's a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. Parking is on the drive.
The coast is about four miles away. Westward Ho! has a long sandy beach. There are smaller coves and fishing villages like Bucks Mills nearby too. The South West Coast Path is easily accessible for walks.
Bideford is the nearest town for shops. It's a historic port. You can drive to Exmoor National Park in about half an hour. There's fishing locally if that's your thing, and a golf course at Westward Ho!
