The Old Barn is in Ford, a small hamlet just outside Bideford. It's an 18th century barn we converted. It's listed, so the walls are thick and the windows are deep.
It sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The main stairs are fine, but the ladder to the galleried snug is exactly that: a ladder. It's sturdy, but it's not for everyone.
There's a big, enclosed garden. It's fully fenced, so dogs can run around. You get the whole thing to yourselves.
Bideford is two miles away. It's got shops, a market, and places to eat. The beach at Westward Ho! is about four miles. It's a long sandy beach, good for walking and surfing.
You're close to the coast here. Bucks Mills and Peppercombe are lovely little spots. Clovelly is famous, but it's steep and you pay to enter the village. Boat trips to Lundy Island leave from Ilfracombe, which is about half an hour's drive.
If it rains, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks are within a 30 minute drive for kids. For gardens, RHS Rosemoor is near Great Torrington and Docton Mill is near Hartland.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking on site.
