27 Nautilus is a ground floor flat in Westward Ho!. It's on the front, so you're about, I'd say, 25 yards from the beach. You can see the sea from the windows.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. The main bedroom has a big bed and floor to ceiling windows. The second bedroom has two singles. It's modern. It was all redone in 2020 so it's clean and straightforward. It's got a 4 Star rating.
Because it's ground floor and there's a level entrance, it works well if you have mobility issues or are in a wheelchair. There's parking right there for you.
You get a private deck out the back. It's not massive, but you can sit out there. The whole Nautilus building looks unusual, like a row of big white blocks. It's very much on the seafront.
Westward Ho! is what it says it is. It's a proper seaside place. The beach is huge. The promenade is right there for a walk. There are shops, cafes, and a few pubs along the front. They're the usual sort for a place like this.
For a longer walk, you can get on the Tarka Trail. It's about three miles from here, maybe a five minute drive. It's a flat path on an old railway line, good for cycling or a gentle walk. You can go for miles inland.
Bideford is about ten minutes by car. It's got a decent pannier market. Barnstaple is maybe twenty minutes. If you fancied a boat trip, you can get the ferry to Lundy Island from Bideford. It's a bit different, good for birds and seals.
The flat has Wi-Fi, a TV, and all the bedding and towels are included. There's no washing machine though, just so you know. There's a shower in each bathroom. No pets allowed.
If you're looking for information on the area, the National Trust Devon page is good for coast and countryside walks.
