The Orangery
The Orangery is part of our house, the big Victorian one at the end of the drive. It's separate, you have your own entrance. It's quiet here, on the edge of Bideford.
It's been done up recently, so everything's fresh and works properly. The rating is 5 Star, which mostly means it's very comfortable and well-equipped. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. One bathroom with a walk-in shower. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, all that.
You get the enclosed garden and patio to yourselves. The hot tub is out there, it's private. There's parking on the drive.
We take dogs, up to three. A lot of the local beaches allow dogs, and some pubs do too.
You can walk into town in about five minutes. Bideford's got the quay, shops, a pannier market, and plenty of places to eat. The park is good, with a play area and a paddling pool in summer.
For things to do, the coast is close. Westward Ho! is about ten minutes by car. The Tarka Trail is just down the hill if you want to walk or cycle. For a day out, Arlington Court is about twenty minutes drive, or RHS Garden Rosemoor is maybe twenty-five minutes. The Big Sheep and Milky Way are also within half an hour if you've got children.
