The Boathouse is in Appledore, right on the water. It's attached to the next building. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs and a shower room downstairs that's handy if you've been at the beach.
It's got a 4 Star rating. The main living space is open plan and looks straight out over the estuary to Instow. The view is the main thing. The stairs to the roof terrace are quite steep, but the view from up there is great, you can see all over Appledore.
You're a couple of minutes' walk from the quay. There are shops, a few pubs, and places to eat. The South West Coast Path goes right past the house. You can get the passenger ferry over to Instow from the quay. Instow has a sandy beach, dogs are allowed on it.
Bideford is about two miles away. They've got a big supermarket and a market. Westward Ho! beach is about a ten minute drive. Dogs are allowed on a large part of it all year. You go across the Burrows to get there.
For walks or cycling, the Tarka Trail is nearby. Other good beaches like Saunton, Croyde, and Woolacombe are within about half an hour's drive.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, WiFi, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
