The Barn is a converted barn on our working farm in Hallspill. It's one of four on the site. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating. You can bring two dogs.
The farm is down a long private drive, so it's quiet here. You look out over the River Torridge and the Iron Bridge. The property itself has a small outdoor space. All guests share access to a bigger green area for dogs or kids to run about. There are woodland walks on the farm.
The facilities are what you'd expect: woodburning stove, TV, wifi, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. We can provide a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them.
Bideford is two miles away. It's a proper market town with shops and a quay. The nearest beaches are Westward Ho! and Instow, both about four miles. They're good for sand, swimming, and Westward Ho! is popular with surfers.
The Tarka Trail is nearby, on the old railway line. It's flat and good for walking or cycling. You can follow it along the river through Instow and up to Barnstaple. The South West Coast Path is also close if you want more of a challenge.
For a day out, you can get the boat from Bideford to Lundy Island. Local attractions like The Big Sheep farm park or The Ultimate Adventure Centre are within easy reach. If you want to go further, Exmoor National Park is about a half hour drive. The surfing beaches at Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe are a bit further, maybe 40 minutes.
