Chapman House is just outside Fairy Cross in North Devon. It's a detached house, converted from an old stables. It's part of a small estate with another cottage, Orchard House, next door. You share the 20 acres of land and a games room with them.
It sleeps ten. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. All the bedrooms are doubles and they each have their own bathroom. It's a 5 Star place, so it's done to a high standard. Everything's there.
The main living area is upstairs. That's so you get the view. There's a big balcony off the kitchen. You can see right out to sea, over to Lundy Island on a clear day. The sunsets from there are good.
There's a wood-burning stove for cooler evenings. The garden is enclosed and has a bit of a play area for kids. You've also got shared use of a tennis court and a games room with a pool table and table tennis.
A private path from the property takes about half an hour to walk down to a quiet beach. It's pebble and sand. The South West Coast Path is right there too. If you're up for a longer walk, about an hour across the fields, there's another little sandy beach that not many people know about.
You're about five miles from Bideford. The Atlantic Village retail park is a couple of miles away if you need a big supermarket. The surfing beaches at Westward Ho! and Bude are within a 30 minute drive. For walking, the Tarka Trail is nearby for cycling.
In terms of facilities: it's all included. Washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, bedding and towels. There's parking. You can bring up to two dogs. We've got a cot and highchair if you need them.
