The Old Coach House

The Old Coach House is a barn conversion in Cranford, near Bideford. It sleeps five. Two bedrooms and one bathroom downstairs, and the living area is upstairs. That's the upside-down layout. It works fine.

The garden is enclosed. There's also a two-acre field across the lane you can use for a walk or a picnic. It's a rural spot. Quiet.

Inside, it's a four-star place. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped, not just basic. There's a wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We take up to three dogs.

The local beach is Bucks Mills, about a ten minute drive. It's a sand and shingle beach, dog friendly. The coastal path there is good. You can walk to Clovelly from there if you want a long one. Woolsery village is just over a mile away and has a pub and a chip shop. Bideford is the nearest proper town for shops and restaurants. They do boat trips to Lundy Island from there.

If you're driving, Instow and Appledore are nice for a wander. RHS Rosemoor is about half an hour away. Hartland Quay and the Hartland Peninsula are worth a visit for the coastline. The National Trust has a few spots nearby too.
