Hartland Forest Golf & Leisure

This is Lodge 46 at Hartland Forest Golf & Leisure near Woolsery. It's a detached lodge, so you get good privacy. The site is quite tucked away in North Devon, which is quiet but means you do a bit of driving.

The lodge sleeps six in three bedrooms and has two bathrooms, which is handy with that many people. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and has what you need. The kitchen is open plan with a dishwasher. There's a patio with a garden area. The view from the front is over fields and a small river, not the golf course.

You can bring up to three dogs, which a lot of places don't allow. Bedding and towels are included, and there's parking right outside.

Being in Northmoor, you're not right on the coast. The coast is stunning but it's a drive. The National Trust has a lot of the coastline nearby, like Hartland Point. That's about a 20 minute drive for the cliffs and walks.

The village of Woolsery itself has the basics. There's a local shop and a couple of pubs that do food. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Bideford, which is 20 minutes away. Bideford has a quay and you can get boat trips from there to Lundy Island. Clovelly is a famous little village about 25 minutes away. It's all cobbled streets, but there's a charge to go in.

The golf and leisure club is on-site if you want to use it. There's fishing locally too. If you want to go further, Barnstaple is about half an hour north, and the southern edge of Exmoor is within 30 minutes.
