The Old Mill

The Old Mill is in Buck's Mills. It's a Grade II listed house, probably the oldest in the village. It sleeps ten people. Five bedrooms, two bathrooms.

It’s got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and decent, not luxury. The stairs are steep and the doors are low in places because it’s an old building. You get used to it.

The house is detached. You park on site. It's got a wood burning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to three dogs.

It’s about a three minute walk down a steep cliff path to the beach. It's sand and shingle. You can see Lundy Island from there. Good for rock pools.

The South West Coast Path goes right past the house. You can walk to Clovelly one way, or towards Westward Ho! the other. The beach at Peppercombe is nice.

The nearest shop is a mile away in Bucks Cross. There’s a pub and restaurant about two and a half miles away. Bideford is the main town for supermarkets and things. You can get boat trips to Lundy from there.

If you want to drive out, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way are about half an hour away for kids. RHS Garden Rosemoor is about 25 minutes. Hartland Quay is a dramatic bit of coast, maybe 40 minutes.
