Oak Lodge - Forest Lakes
Oak Lodge is on the Forest Lakes site near Venn in North Devon. It's a modern, single-storey lodge, so all on one level. It sleeps eight.
There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms, which is handy with a bigger group. Four rooms have king-size beds, one has a bunk bed for kids. We've put cots and highchairs in there too.
You get a private garden and a patio with a hot tub. There's a wood burner in one of the living areas and big windows looking out to the garden. Everything like the washing machine and dishwasher is there.
The site itself is quiet, mostly a few other holiday lodges. It's good if you want a base that's peaceful but within a short drive of things.
The Milky Way Adventure Park is about five minutes away by car. Clovelly, the historic fishing village, is roughly 15 minutes. The closest bit of coast, like Westward Ho!, is about a 15 minute drive. For bigger beaches, like the ones at Croyde or Saunton, you're looking at half an hour.
Bideford is the nearest proper town for supermarkets, maybe 10-15 minutes. Dartmoor and Exmoor are both within an hour if you fancy a day out walking.
It's rated 4 Star. We allow one well-behaved dog. Parking is right outside.
