This place is called Shippen. It's one of three converted barns here in Venn, near Hartland. It's for two people, one bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means the finish is high quality and everything is in good order.
The barn has high ceilings and oak floors. It's open plan downstairs. There's a patio area outside your door that's just for you, with a table and chairs. You share a bigger garden area with the other barns, which has a barbecue and a herb garden. There's a large meadow too, which is good for letting dogs run.
We live next door on the smallholding. We've got chickens, ducks, and a vegetable plot. We manage the land for wildlife, so you'll see birds and might hear owls at night.
The stairs inside are a spiral staircase. They're fine, but worth noting.
You're about two and a half miles from the coast. Bucks Mills is the closest beach, it's a small pebble and sand beach in a cove. Hartland and Clovelly are a short drive. For a big sandy beach, you'd drive to Westward Ho! or over the border into Bude, Cornwall. That's about a 20-minute drive.
The village of Woolfardisworthy is two miles away. It has a shop and a pub that does food. There's a fish and chip shop there too.
Inside, you've got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. We accept up to two dogs. We have storage for bikes or surfboards if you need it.
If you're planning days out, Visit Devon has good information, and the National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline here.
