The Old Mill House is in Welcombe, right on the Devon and Cornwall border. It's a barn conversion. We live on site, so we're nearby if you need anything. The cottage itself is separate though, you have your own space.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. The upstairs is all open plan, living room and kitchen together. The views from there are good, out over the fields to the sea. The stairs are a standard cottage staircase, so they turn a corner and are a bit steeper than modern ones.
There's an enclosed garden patio for you. At the front of our property there's a shared play area with some swings and things if you've got children. It's about half an acre.
Welcombe Mouth beach is less than a mile away. It's sand and rock pools, not huge, but nice. The walk down is lovely. There's a thatched pub in the village, about a mile, that does food.
For shops, you'll need to drive. The nearest proper shop is about two miles. Bude is about eight miles away for supermarkets, surf hire, that sort of thing.
This is a good spot for the north coast. You can get to Clovelly, which is all cobbles and donkeys, in about ten minutes by car. Hartland Quay and Hartland Abbey are close too, very dramatic. For a day out, Lundy Island boats go from Bideford. Bideford itself has a market and is worth a look.
Included facilities: all the bedding, towels, WiFi, TV. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. We leave a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is right there. Sorry, no pets.
