The Retreat is on the edge of a golf course near Northmoor in North Devon. It's a detached Scandinavian-style lodge. It's quiet, you won't get much noise except birds.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is useful. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means everything works and it's clean, but it's not a luxury hotel. The layout is all open plan downstairs.
Important things: it's all on one level. There are no steps at the entrance, so it's accessible for wheelchairs or if steps are a problem. The doors are wide enough. There's parking right outside.
For facilities, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
Location wise, you're a bit out on your own. The nearest pub is two and a half miles away. The nearest shop is six miles, so you'll want to bring your shopping with you. The coast is about a twenty minute drive.
If you want beaches, Westward Ho! is that way for surfing. Bude in Cornwall is also close. For walks, the Tarka Trail is nearby for cycling. There's good walking on the coast path or at Hartland.
For a day out, The Big Sheep or The Milky Way are good for kids. For gardens, RHS Rosemoor is well worth the drive. The National Trust has a few places around here too, like Arlington Court.
