Pleasant Spot Lodge is in Meddon, out near Hartland. It's a detached lodge on a big site. It sleeps four in two bedrooms, with two bathrooms. Both were redone a few years ago.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's nicely done, not luxurious but comfortable and clean. There's a wood burner for colder nights and the living area opens onto a deck. It's peaceful here, you look out over the countryside.
The site is over a hundred acres. You can walk straight from the door into Hartland Forest. For the coast, Hartland Point has spectacular paths. National Trust Hartland manages a lot of it.
Clovelly is about four miles away. It's a steep, cobbled village. Westward Ho! and Bude are the main beach spots for families and surfing, they're about a twenty minute drive. Bideford is where you get the boat to Lundy Island.
There's a pub that does food two miles away. The nearest shop is in Hartland, about three miles. The Tarka Trail for walking and cycling is close by.
Facilities: there's parking right outside, a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all on the ground floor.
