The Brown House

The Brown House is in Northmoor. It's near the Devon and Cornwall border, about two miles inland from the main road. It's a detached lodge.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxury. You're right next to some fishing lakes, which you get a pass for. Mostly carp and roach.

The place is very quiet. You're surrounded by Forestry Commission land. The patio looks out over the lakes and trees.

For the beach, Sandymouth is the closest. It's a National Trust beach, about a ten minute drive. Good for surfing or just walking the cliffs. Bude is a bit further, maybe twenty minutes, if you want shops and surf schools.

Walking is straightforward. The South West Coast Path is accessible. Hartland Point and Clovelly are within half an hour's drive. For cycling, you can hire bikes in Bideford and use the Tarka Trail.

The village of Woolsery is two and a half miles away. It's got a pub, a shop, and a well-known restaurant with a fish and chip shop next to it.

In terms of stuff here: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, sorry.

Other things nearby include The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks, both about a twenty minute drive. For local information, the National Trust Devon site is useful.
