Swallows Retreat is a detached barn conversion on our farm in Tosberry. It's on the Hartland Peninsula, about three miles from the coast.
The barn sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable. It's open plan downstairs. The kitchen has granite worktops.
You're on a working farm with cattle and sheep, so you'll see them in the fields. It's quiet. The garden is yours to use, and there's a BBQ.
You can walk straight out onto the coastal path from the farm. The views towards Welcombe Mouth are good. The coast here is some of the best in Devon. If you want a beach day, there are sandy ones and rocky coves along this stretch.
The nearest pub doing food is about a mile and a half away. Hartland village is three miles and has a shop. For a bigger town, Bude is about a twenty minute drive. They've got shops, places to eat, and an indoor pool. Bideford is further, maybe half an hour, and you can get the boat to Lundy Island from there.
Other things nearby: Clovelly is a famous fishing village. Hartland Quay and Hartland Abbey are worth a visit. For a day out with children, The Big Sheep or The Milky Way are both within a half hour drive.
Facilities: parking right outside. Wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, I'm afraid.
