The Cart House is a barn conversion on our farm in Hardisworthy. It's just for two people, all on one floor. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the fields to the sea. Nothing's in the way.
It's got a 5 Star rating, which in practice means it's been done to a high standard. It's warm, everything works, and it's very comfortable. There's underfloor heating and a wood burner. The shower is good and powerful.
The patio is enclosed, so it's private. You can sit out there with your coffee in the morning. It's a working farm with sheep and cattle, so you'll see us going about, but the cottage is separate.
You're right on the edge of the Hartland peninsula. For a walk, you can go straight out the gate and down the lanes to the coast path. The cliffs here are dramatic. National Trust Hartland looks after a lot of it.
Hartland Quay is about ten minutes by car. It's a rugged spot with a small museum. Hartland Point is a bit further. For a proper village, you drive to Hartland itself. It has a shop, a couple of pubs, and the Hartland Abbey estate.
If you head north, Clovelly is twenty minutes away. It's that steep, cobbled street you see in pictures. You pay to enter. South, you've got places like Westward Ho! and Bideford within half an hour.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV with satellite, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside. We can store bikes if you bring them. No pets, I'm afraid.
