The Bothy is a converted barn in Alfardisworthy, just inside Devon. It's detached and single-storey, so everything's on one level. It's in the grounds of our house, but it's private.
It's for two people. One bedroom and two bathrooms, which is handy. It has a 5 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable. We allow one well-behaved dog.
It's very quiet here. There's a small wood with paths you can walk through, which is good for dogs. You're about a mile and a half from the Tamar Lakes. You can walk around them, or they do fishing and sailing. South West Lakes Trust site for Tamar Lakes.
The coast is about seven miles. Bude and Sandymouth are the main beaches that way. Clovelly, the fishing village, is also close. Bradworthy village is two miles away. It has a shop, a pub, and a post office. There's another pub and a restaurant about two miles in the other direction.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a woodburner, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. We include the bedding and towels. There's parking right outside and space to store bikes. The wifi works fine.
If you're looking for things to do, the National Trust has a lot of properties and coast nearby. For walks, the South West Coast Path is about half an hour's drive.
