The Barn is in Parkham, which is inland in North Devon. It’s a detached stone barn conversion, so it’s all yours. It's on a working farm. You get a welcome cake, which is nice.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, with things like a dishwasher and a wood burner. Being a barn, the ceilings are high and the rooms feel quite spacious.
There’s a kids' play area on the farm. You can also go on a farm tour with the owners, Tony does a tractor and trailer ride which kids tend to like.
The local pub, The Bell, is about a five minute walk away. They do takeaway. For a proper pub meal, there's a thatched inn about two and a half miles away.
The coast is about seven miles. Westward Ho! has a big sandy beach, good for surfing. Clovelly is famous, that’s about a fifteen minute drive. Bideford is the nearest proper town for shops; you can get boat trips to Lundy Island from there.
If you need to keep people entertained, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks are both within half an hour. Gardeners might like RHS Rosemoor or Docton Mill, also within about thirty minutes.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
