Little Southwood is ours, it's in Buckland Brewer. It's a two-up two-down cottage, basically. Sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and it's clean.
The living room has a wood burner. It's a modern one, so it's good and heats the place up. The kitchen has what you need. The dining table is in the hall, which has stone floors. That's handy if you've got sandy boots or a wet dog.
Speaking of dogs, you can bring one. The garden out the back is enclosed, which is why we allow pets. There's a patio with seating and a barbecue. There's also a cold water tap with a shower head outside, which is really useful for washing off dogs or sandy kids.
The stairs are steep. They're cottage stairs. Just so you know.
The village has a shop and a pub, both are a short walk. The pub does food. Bideford is about five miles away if you need more shops or a supermarket. Barnstaple is fifteen miles.
The coast is close. The nearest beach is about four miles, but the better known ones like Westward Ho!, Saunton, and Woolacombe are within a twenty or thirty minute drive. They get busy in summer.
For walks, you're not far from the Tarka Trail or bits of the South West Coast Path. Exmoor is about half an hour away. If you're into that, the Exmoor National Park website has good information.
Included in the price: all utilities, WiFi, a TV, bedding and towels, and there's a washing machine. We leave some logs to get you started for the burner.
