Ok, so it's called Oak. It's in Bideford, on the edge of a nature reserve. It's a lower ground floor apartment. There's another one next door called Ash, they're identical and you can book both if you need more space.
Oak sleeps up to six. Two proper bedrooms, both have big beds that can be split into twins if you ask. There's also a double sofa bed in the lounge. One bathroom with a bath and a shower over it.
You get your own kitchen and living space. It's got a dishwasher and a coffee machine. It's clean and well looked after, it's got a 4 Star rating.
Outside, there's a big shared deck with seating, you look straight out over the nature reserve. The garden paths are nice for a wander. There's a swimming pool, open from May to September. There's also a covered hot tub you can book for a private slot, but kids have to be over 12 to use it.
Just to be clear, you get to it by going down some stairs. So it's not suitable for wheelchairs or if stairs are a problem.
Bideford itself is a proper working town. It's got a nice quayside. The beach at Westward Ho! is about three miles away, Instow is about four. Both are easy to get to.
For walking, the Tarka Trail is right there. It's a flat path on an old railway line, good for bikes too. It goes along the river to Instow and on to Barnstaple. The South West Coast Path is close by if you want something more rugged.
If you fancy a day trip, you can get the boat from Bideford out to Lundy Island. It's a special place for wildlife. Further afield, Exmoor National Park is about a half hour drive. Clovelly and Hartland are in that direction too.
In the other direction, the big surf beaches are Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe. They're about a 30 minute drive. For a rainy day, The Big Sheep is a farm amusement park, or the Ultimate Adventure Centre does climbing and coasteering.
Facilities: you've got parking, wifi, TV, a washing machine, a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
