Teal Cottage is a semi-detached house in Instow. It sleeps two, and you can bring one well-behaved dog. The property has a 4 Star rating, which means it's well equipped and comfortable.
It's a short, flat walk to the sandy beach and the village pubs and cafes. The local shop is useful. The beach is great for walking and has a very long promenade. You're right on the Tarka Trail here for cycling or walking. The ferry to Appledore runs from the Instow slipway in summer.
The cottage has one proper bathroom upstairs. There are two bedrooms, but both have double beds, so it's set up for two people. It works for two couples who don't mind sharing, or a couple wanting a spare room. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, so they're a bit steep and turn a corner.
There's a small, enclosed patio garden out the back with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the afternoon. Parking is on the gravel area right outside the front gate.
Inside, it's got everything you'd need for a week. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We leave a cot and a highchair in the cupboard under the stairs if you need them.
For days out, Westward Ho! is about ten minutes drive for surfing. The ferry to Lundy Island goes from Bideford, which is three miles away. The National Trust's Arlington Court and the RHS Garden Rosemoor are both within half an hour's drive.
