Dove Cote House
Dove Cote House is on the Webbery Manor Estate, up near Stony Cross. It's quite high up, so you get good views over the Taw and Torridge estuaries. It's a detached stone cottage.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well finished and comfortable. There's a wood burning stove in the living room for cooler evenings.
The cottage has its own garden and patio. You share the wider estate grounds, which are about 30 acres of parkland and woods. There are sheep grazing, and you often see deer and birds of prey. The walled kitchen garden is organic and they grow some unusual veg. You're welcome to take some if it's in season.
It's a rural spot. The nearest proper shops and pubs are in Bideford, about five miles away. Bideford's a working harbour town with a market. Fishing and horse riding are available within five miles. There's a golf course nearby.
The facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
For days out, Dartmoor National Park is about a 30 minute drive south. The North Devon coast, like Westward Ho!, is about 20 minutes away. If you're interested in the local history and walks, the National Trust Devon page is useful, as is the Visit Devon site.
