Cobble Cottage
Cobble Cottage is in Instow, right by the water. It's a very old, attached cottage next to our house. You get the little courtyard garden to yourselves. It's sunny out there.
It sleeps two. One bedroom upstairs, one wet room shower downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's three hundred years old, so mind your head in places. The stairs are the original ones. They're steep and a bit uneven.
You can't drive right to the door. You park on Marine Parade, which is free in the evenings and unrestricted through the winter. It's only a one or two minute walk from there. There are also pay and display car parks close by.
The beach is just down the lane. It's sand and dunes. The sunsets over the water are very good. You can see a sliver of sea from the bedroom window.
There are pubs and places to eat very close. Some do breakfast. The deli is good for supplies. You can sit outside at a few places and watch the boats on the estuary.
Appledore is directly across the water. You can drive round or get the passenger ferry from the quay. For a longer trip, Barnstaple is about ten minutes by car. The Tarka Trail is here for walking or cycling. The North Devon coast, like Westward Ho! or Croyde, is within half an hour.
Facilities: there's a wood burner, a Smart TV, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. The shower is a wet room. No pets, sorry.
