The Appleloft is on Webbery Manor Estate near Stony Cross. It's a converted loft space above some old estate buildings. You get a good view from up there.
It's a five-star place, which means it's been finished to a high standard. Everything is very clean and works properly. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom.
The stairs up to the loft are quite steep and narrow. Something to be aware of if you have trouble with stairs. It's fine once you're up there.
The estate is big, about 30 acres. There are sheep grazing and woods to walk in. You'll see deer and pheasants. They have a walled kitchen garden where they grow vegetables. Sometimes they'll leave some outside your door if there's a surplus, but it depends on the season.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, which is nice in the evenings. You've got a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. All bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring one dog.
It's quiet here. The nearest shops and pubs are about five miles away in Bideford. Bideford has a working harbour and a market. There are a few places to eat.
You can go fishing or horse riding locally, within five miles. For walks, the Tarka Trail is nearby. If you want to explore further, the North Devon coast and Exmoor are within half an hour's drive.
