Mill Pool
Mill Pool is one of the cottages at Town Mills, just outside Great Torrington. It's part of the old Saw Mill. You look out over what used to be the mill pond.
It sleeps three, plus two children in a small bunk room. So it's three bedrooms, but two of them are for adults. There are two bathrooms, both en-suite, which is handy. One has a shower over the bath.
The living room looks out at the old waterwheel from the Grain Mill next door, which still turns sometimes. The kitchen is open-plan. It's comfortable, not swanky. It's got a 4 Star rating.
On site, there's a shared indoor swimming pool. It's kept warm. You can book it for just your group for an hour. There's also a games room with a pool table and table football, and a kids' play area by the river. The gardens are nice to wander around, there are peacocks.
It's a good spot for the Tarka Trail if you've got bikes. The RHS Garden Rosemoor is basically next door. Great Torrington is about a mile away for shops and a pub.
The north Devon coast is about a 20 minute drive. Westward Ho! for the beach and surf, or Instow. Appledore is a pretty little town. Clovelly is further west but worth the trip.
Facilities: all the basics are included. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are provided. There's parking. You can bring up to two dogs.
