Mill Pool

Mill Pool is one of the cottages at Town Mills, just outside Great Torrington. It's a historic mill conversion, part of the old saw mill. The main garden is right outside your front door.

It sleeps three, but in a flexible way. There's a double bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom. A single bedroom also has an ensuite. Then there's a small bunk room for two children. So it's good for a couple with one child, or one child and a grandparent, that sort of thing. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped, not just basic.

The living room looks out at the original waterwheel for the grain mill next door. You can hear the stream running past the cottage. The kitchen is open-plan with the dining area.

On site, there's a shared indoor swimming pool. It's kept warm. You can book it for just your group if you want it private. There's a games room with a free pool table, table football, and a dart board. Outside, there's a fenced children's play area by the river with swings and a slide, and another garden area on the other side of the mill. The owners have peacocks that wander about.

Great Torrington is about a mile away for shops and pubs. The property backs onto Torrington Common, which is 365 acres with miles of footpaths. The RHS Garden Rosemoor is literally next door. The Tarka Trail runs nearby for walking and cycling.

The north Devon coast is about a 20 minute drive. Westward Ho! has a long sandy beach. Instow is good for families. Bideford is a working port where you can get boat trips to Lundy Island. Clovelly, with its steep cobbled street, is about half an hour away.

Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking on site.
