Halcyon Cottage is one of four barn conversions in a small courtyard here at Berry Cross. It's on a single level, so everything is on the ground floor.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means things are in good order and it's well equipped, but it's not a luxury hotel.
The main thing here is the space outside. We've got six acres of land. There's an orchard, a flat field out the back that's good for kicking a ball around, and a kids' play area with swings and a climbing frame. There are some sheep, hens, and two Dartmoor ponies in the fields you can see from the cottage.
We also have an indoor heated swimming pool on the site that all guests can use.
The Tarka Trail footpath and cycleway runs nearby, about a quarter of a mile down the lane. RHS Garden Rosemoor is close, less than two miles away.
The nearest town is Great Torrington, three miles. That's where you'll find the main shops, supermarkets, and a few pubs. The nearest pub for a meal is about two miles.
The coast is about a 20 to 30 minute drive. You've got Instow, which is good for sailing and has a sandy bit, or Westward Ho! and Saunton for surfing. Woolacombe and Croyde are a bit further.
Inside, it's got what you'd need: a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. We allow up to two dogs.
There's parking right outside the cottage, and we've just put in an electric vehicle charger.
