Halcyon Cottage
Halcyon Cottage is at Berry Cross, near Great Torrington in Devon. It's part of a set of barn conversions around a courtyard. It's terraced, so you've got neighbours either side, but you've got your own patio area.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well looked after and everything works, but it's not a show home.
The main thing is the grounds. We've got six acres of parkland here. There's an orchard, a kids' play area with swings, and we keep some animals. There are two Dartmoor ponies, some sheep, and hens. There's also a big, flat field where you can kick a football about or fly a kite.
There's an indoor heated swimming pool on site that you can use. It's shared between the cottages.
Great Torrington is about three miles away for shops and pubs. The nearest pub you can walk to is about two miles, so you'd probably drive. The coast is about ten miles. You've got Instow for a gentler beach, or Westward Ho! and Saunton Sands if you want surf.
The Tarka Trail is a quarter of a mile away. Good for walking or cycling. RHS Garden Rosemoor is less than two miles from here and is worth a visit. For wider plans, North Devon National Landscape and Exmoor National Park sites have good information.
Inside, it has what you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. You can bring up to two dogs. We also have a cot and a highchair if you're bringing little ones.
One thing to know: if you're in a big group wanting to book more than one cottage, we can only book two together per party.
